E-POSTER PRESENTATION FOR
PROF.ROY SANTOSHAM GOLD MEDAL FOR INNOVATION / NOVEL ORIGINAL RESEARCH IN IMAGING

This “Innovation/novel original research in Imaging” medal is instituted in the name of Prof. Roy Santosham, Professor of Radiology , Centre of Excellence in Radiology and Imaging sciences, SRMC and RI, SRIHER, Porur, Chennai-600116 for his innovative thinking, unique contribution in the field of Radiology for more than three decades. He invented devices like Precise Image Guided Assistance(PIGA) and HigHNooN CT navigation device to simplify CT Guided procedures.Even as a post-graduate at the time of non-availability of Dianosil, he made brochography possible by mixing Carboxy Methyl Cellulose with Omnipaque ( Omnipaque Brochography ) which facilitated resective lung surgeries & saving lives of patients suffering from suppurative lung disease.

The staff and faculties of Radiology department are proud to be associated with Prof. Roy Santosham. The gold medal was started in his honor by Prof Dr. Rajeswaran HOD in the year 2023, Department of Radiology, SRIHER, and will be given at the time of RARE (Ramachandra Advanced Radiology Education). An educational program conducted every year by the department of Radiology, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research.

Who can apply? (Procedure of application and eligibility criteria)

  • Contestants should email the poster (maximum of 23 slides) with the subject - APPLYING FOR PROF.ROY SANTOSHAM GOLD MEDAL FOR INNOVATION / NOVEL ORIGINAL RESEARCH IN IMAGING.
  • A minimum of three slides should highlight the uniqueness of innovation and originality in any imaging modality to provide the best outcomes for our patients/ radiology / society.
  • Final year Radiology postgraduates (MD, DMRD, PhD and DNB) and junior consultants (upto 40 years of age) can apply. The contestants need to mail scanned copies of the following along with the poster.
    1. Proof of RARE Registration
    2. Bonafide certificate from HOD Radiology for postgraduates
    3. Proof of age (Aadhar Card / Driving licence / Birth certificate)
    4. MD/ DNB/DMRD/ PhD degree certificates in case of junior consultants
  • One contestant is allowed to submit one abstract only. More than one abstract by the same candidate will be rejected.
  • Short listed candidates will be asked to present their innovation in RARE Program. Decision of the Award committee is final. The award committee will announce the winner.
“PROF. ROY SANTOSHAM GOLD MEDAL FOR INNOVATION / NOVEL ORIGINAL RESEARCH IN IMAGING” will be presented to the winner in the RARE 2024 Program.
